ALTIUS

ALTIUS, an initiative of World Malayalee Council, intends to impart quality training to students of various colleges to groom them to be ‘Globally Competent and Socially Committed’ leaders of tomorrow. ‘Altius’ is the Latin word for ‘higher’. A celebration of youthful creativity, Altius aims to bring out the leader in every student by enabling him or her to bloom to full capacity. Altius strives diligently to awaken the higher self within every student, to rise higher in their thoughts and lives without losing the values. The world’s population grows older, India will take centre stage in the formation of a new world order. The demographic revolution brings with it a myriad of challenges and opportunities. How well prepared are our youth today to grasp the opportunities that come their way? How skilful are they to tackle the challenges and responsibilities that they will encounter? How well networked are they to pursue their dreams?
ALTIUS is an attempt to answer all these questions. It aims to develop skills, plan career and to learn how to become a good human being. It aims to create a network founded on communication, learning, creativity and integrity. Our goal is to be instrumental in developing a large pool of young leaders/cadres to influence their respective communities. Altius students will show the difference wherever they are and in whatever they do. In the next ten years Kerala will be revolutionized by this generation with its positive attitude, actions.


This is just an extract from the blog of Altius.  For me Altius is like a group of people ready to do anything good for the society and the family. Instead of bringing big changes, they emphasis on small changes. They give respect to all and never fail to show their gratitude, which comes from the depth of their hearts. So, I an proud to be in Altius and am looking forward.

Viswa Sadasivan

 

Viswa had his secondary school education at Raffles Institution, before going on to do a degree in political science at the National University of Singapore. After graduating, he worked for the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (SBC, later renamed MediaCorp), where he was the presenter and producer of a number of current affairs television programmes including Feedback, Talking Point and Today in Parliament, before becoming the Senior Controller of the Current Affairs Division. He received an SBC scholarship to study at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government, where he completed a Master of Public Administration degree. He subsequently worked as Senior Manager for Corporate Planning and Business Development at Singapore Press Holdings, before joining the Canadian television company UTV International as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

In 1997, Viswa co-founded the Right Angle Group (subsequently renamed Strategic Moves Pte Ltd), a television production, communications training and strategic consultancy organisation based in Singapore. He is currently the organisation's CEO. He received a 'Spirit of Enterprise Award' in 2003 in recognition of his entrepreneurial achievements.

Viswa has been extensively involved in public service. He has served as the Chairman of the Political Development Feedback Group of Singapore's Feedback Unit, and as Vice-President and Secretary of the Singapore Indian Development Association (SINDA) Executive Committee. He has also served on the Media Development Authority's Board, the Singapore 21 Committee, Economic Review Committee, Remaking Singapore Committee, and the National Youth Achievement Award Council.

Hey friends, again I had a great opportunity to have a good interactive section with him in the International Conference on Metaphysics and Politics in Le Maridian .  I was speechless after his session, I was very much motivated and inspired from his speech.
